Germany used to be able to bail out other euoropean economies on the account of their fiscal conservatism but that worked out fine when germany needed to bail out Greece while the german economy was ok. Now their economy is ( using the most optimistic definition of the word) stagnating and theyll soon have to bail out France despite them planing a 500 bilion dolar stimulus.

This is the reason Putin won't end the war until they achieve every political and military goal regarding ukraine, either on the field or on the negotiating table.
