>And what happens when someone disagrees with what is "abundantly clear" to you,
Depends on what you mean.
The one thing scripture states without unclear language, even checking the translation, is how salvation itself works. Grace by faith. Not of works. So none may boast. Paul spent an entire letter spelling it out at length. Even gave one of the harshest judgements in scripture himself. If anyone comes speaking an alternate gospel, even an angel, they are ANATHEMA.

If all you know is Jesus Christ crucified, you do well. There's also Romans 10:9 and it's entire context.
It is the one thing scripture beats you over the head with at length and on no uncertain terms. There's no ambiguity. The issue is man's heart has a hard time accepting it. Though frankly, what is so worth strangling people to death over but the gospel itself? You can try to control the people and make them march in lock step tradition all you like. If they aren't saved, what's the point?
If all we knew is that God sent his only son to die on the cross for our sin, and resurrected him, we'd still be immeasurably blessed. That IS the thing even angels sought after through all of history but were not allowed to know. Yet we get to know. Which is also scripture, if I'm being too sly on that for others to catch.
