Absolute same use case as you here.
Bit the bullet and got a new MBA m4 15 inch after hating my Huawei shitbook.
What can I say. It's good. In some areas, unbelievably good. But it's not perfect, so don't expect that. For example, the default scaling setting makes everything and especially text, blurry. Then the larger scaling setiting makes it crisp and the even larger one makes it VERY blurry. On Windows, scaling is a non-issue.
The latest Tahoe update is utter dogcrap. And you can't even easily go back to the previous OS version if you update.
There are a lot of small nitpicks and catches like that, and they may or may not build up to be a dealbreaker for you
But the basics are fantastic. It's so fast the OS hasn't stuttered or lagged a single time and I've been using it for months now, the battery life is while not as fantastic as everyone is memeing it to be, but still pretty good, the alluminum build is super sturdy. The screen is good, despite being glossy which makes 0 sense other than being flashy and stylish, the sound of the speakers is good.
Regarding production I use FL Studio and it's kinda more buggy than the Windows version? It works most of the time but Image-Line just needs a bit more to polish it up. Installing VSTs is generally easier. You sound like a poorfag (like a me) so be warned that there's probably 2/3 less pirated stuff available for Mac. I did research if what I need was available before getting a Mac, but one very important VST ended up being taken down just after I got the Mac, so I actually had to buy that VST, for the first time in my life. Thankfully, it wasn't very expensive.
And thanks for living in a shithole, this mac m4 15 inch 512/16 costed me 1600 dollarinos, more expensive than in the US, despite our average income being 10 times smaller than in the US.
