this, and I say this as an estonian. What irks me the most is constant validation begging from finns and saying how we would surely be on the same level as finland if not for USSR. At the same time our "patriots" are all working as strawberry pickers or construction workers in finland and are moving there as soon as possible. It's beyond pathetic. We've been getting gibs from EU for 30 years now and the ratio between income and free spending has only become worse.
>harass and bully Russians within their country
That ones thankfully doesn't hold. I personally do dislike how a chunk of them don't know estonian, but I get it in most cases. It's either old boomers who've had their job, income, home etc set from before the secession, they don't really have a need to learn estonian as inconvenient as that is. The other majority are kids (who end up learning estonian down the line anyway) who are born in ida-viru county. In their case it's understandable, since from their birth they are surrounded by russians literally everywhere, ofc they won't learn the language. That's an issue, but it is what it is, the borders happen to include a russian speaking population.
The constant crying about deportations has gotten old by the time I was 10. It's been 80 years and they still cry about 30000 deported (majority of whom returned soon after) like it was holocaust 2.0. Jesus christ, I get that it was horrible for some families, but it was literally just 30K people in the grand scheme of things, get over it, other countries suffered much more and you're still kvetching about it as if it keeps happening every year.
Our country could just stay neutral and reap the benefits from all sides, but no, we just have to bow down to our EU gigakikes and constantly sperg out. I just hate all the potential they are flushing down the drain.
