I think you’re right, he’s the only one who steps up and puts himself in harm’s way to try to stop you from doing the weird route (besides Spamton I guess, but he’s doing it for selfish reasons instead of to protect Noelle) and, Berdly is also willing to injure himself to break free of Queen forcing him to fight you.
