Thoughts on adding secondary effects to items? It's a severely underutilized mechanic that they forgot about. IIRC, CWK weapons have some unremarkable effects.

What if, for example, the level 90 2H Sword "Berzerker", had a secondary effect where if it were wielded by a White Knight/Paladin, all elemental effects would be cancelled out but you get an X% increase in overall damage. It could give purpose to otherwise useless items like the aforementioned sword.
