my greatest hope for the future is that after everything collapses, all of the easily accessible surface deposits of fossil fuels, agricultural fertilizers, and rare earth metals will be near-exhausted. the next generation of people like 500-1000 years from now will be naturally capped at a medieval level of technology, preventing them from devolving into the over-comforted mass reproducing roaches we live as today. just thousands and thousands of years on a thriving planet to look forward to.
