Pellegrino was spending his summer vacation visiting relatives in Milan, Italy.
On July 15, he was stabbed in the neck on a train.
“Left external jugular vein right here, that it was only nicked, not fully severed,” Pellegrino said.

The devout Catholic and religious studies teacher was wearing a crucifix necklace around his neck. Pellegrino wonders if that was why he was targeted.
