Oh, no no, it doesn't get that hot. It's just unbearably hot to be out it. The only real damage to cars from the heat here isn't actually the heat, but the direct exposure to so much sun; clearcoat life here is short if you're not covering the vehicle, but the upside is that rust is practically nonexistent.
