>I can't think of a single reason to play the original instead.
There's boatloads of reasons why you should opt for the original.
>Mercer and Hammond's characters are ruined due to the former staying way past when he should be and Hammond obsessing about a random Asian guy you knew for two seconds.
>Security doors to force you to backtrack and it locks basic blueprints you found naturally in the original behind them.
>Instead of you proceeding throughout the game you are constantly having to revisit older areas to gain access to new areas which involves fighting the encounters spawning in the same areas repeatedly and it feels disjointed how everything connects.
>Zero-g is the one from DS2 and DS3 but with worse controls somehow making it far more stupid to actually move around.
>Kinesis is the one from DS2 and DS3 but impalements can't even one-shot basic Slashers anymore making it pointless.
>The skin system makes combat so much worse because now you have to rip the skin to actually start dealing damage to a Necrmorph which means multiple shots wasted before you do anything.
>Guns in general feel weaker than the original with some guns like Force Gun being objectively worse in every way but others are mostly better like the Contact Beam.
>They added a bunch of new rooms to pad locations out or allow you to backtrack which includes making Aegis VII feel like ass with the new rooms when it's already so slow to go through it.
>Impossible difficulty was removed and turned into the Hardcore mode, Hard is the highest difficulty and it's basically Normal difficulty in the original, it's significantly easier than the original.
It's so easy I did Impossible on my first playthrough and cleared it.
>Red-Eye Necromorphs make NG+ so much worse because they have the health and damage of Advanced Brutes and spawn multiple copies including when backtracking.
>RIGs look worse across the board including the DLC suits.
