New Colt Rifle is F'd Up out of the Box
Bought my first rifle a couple weeks ago. Brand new Colt AR15A4 still in box. Shot it for maybe 100 rounds and it was being kinda screwy with the trigger, couldn't even get through a full 30rnd PMAG without a malfuction, I'd pull the trigger and it would click but the round wouldn't fire. Had to eject a couple rounds then it would fire again. Didn't think much of it, I got home and punched the barrel with solvent and lubed it up (I realize now I put on too much lube and wiped as much of it I could off, I am new to rifles so mea culpa). I go back and shoot it again a couple weeks later, now the trigger is being screwy, sometimes letting off 2 or even 3 rounds when pulling the trigger a single time and slowly letting go of it, and other failures I can't quite remember. My friend in the armed forces who knows a little about ARs dissambled it and cleaned it (but not a lot to be fair), put it back together and we tried again. I decided to stop shooting it when my friend was able to pull the trigger on safe. We shot about 30 rounds before I put it back in the case and shot other guns instead. Really disappointed with this purchase, bought from Dahlonega Armory brand new in box. Do I just call Colt customer service or bring it to a gunsmith or what? Anyone else had similiar problems with a brand new AR?
