I believe he's driven by the avoidance of horrific violence or its minimization in his acts. He speaks at times like a radical but advocates for something greater than burning trashcans or our own flavor of la violencia. He's sticking his neck out for something and is pissing off a growing and consolidating power in doing so. There are few easy choices ahead for the west, he and his kind represent the last gasp of media as it was intended by the founding fathers, his exodus from the traditional right and increasingly bringing leftists and independents into the fold even if only symbolically are aimed beyond sensationalism towards something greater. He's a family man, true patriarch with money to boot yet he's making his family a target and for what? His voice is joining a small minority of dissidents who are at risk of social black listing, legal and physical threats. They are a final appeal to reason and the law, more than a release valve but a political solution to all that ails us.
