It's relative and they're certainly not anywhere near as popular as they were in the past. Obviously the rise of other mediums of vidya is competition. but I also suspect the high cost of arcade cabinets, both for the developer and the arcade, is in part the reason we're not seeing a lot of variety of arcade games. I'd say arcades are holding steady in the east largely because they specifically house games that can only be played in arcades like UFO catchers. That said, I'm only talking from personal experience which is certainly not representative. Konami was smart enough to finally put bombergirl online which I think helps contribute to the games earnings.
