It's insane to me that there's still arguments about this.
Everyone can agree that the female genital mutilation that Muslims do is fucked up, but somehow in the West, it's considered controversial to do the same thing to males.
They're the same thing. The most common form of FGM (female genital mutilation) is cutting off the clitoral hood, exposed the clitoris, the most sensitive part of the female genitalia, in the hopes of desensitizing it, so she'll be more loyal and less sex seeking or whatever.
The male version of it, male genital mutilation, is the same. Cutting off the foreskin, exposing the head of the penis, which is the biological equivalent of the clitoris for similar reasons.
They're both fucked up. How anyone defends circumcision is hard for me to understand, and I do try. I'm circumcized, and my parents brought it up out of nowhere and apologized to me for it. I never mentioned it to them, or even hinted at it. They said that the doctors said it was necessary and practical, and they trusted the professionals. I know that and I believe that.
It hasn't happened to any son of mine, however, and it never will.
>but what about hygiene?
even I who never had a foreskin figured that out easily. just pull it back and clean it, no problem. Maybe sounds weird, but it's no more weird than wiping your babies ass after they shit themselves.
