I completely understand the hesitance but... Alex Garland is a good director and is behind Dredd and 28 Days Later and those are -unironically- two of my desert island, forever goated all time favorite films so... As a starting point I like that. I also heard he WANTS the job, which means he might actually have a cool idea for what to do.
As long as they dont adapt the main game and instead tell us a the story of a major lore element like the Giant War or Liurnian conflict or possibly the fall of Farum Azula or whatever the fuck else. Hell, a Night of the Black Knives film could be UTTER kinography.
