First time playing Xillia here. I can see why people praise the combat so much, it already feels better than Vesperia and I'm only 10 hours in, just unlocked mirage step and I'm dodging shit left and right and comboing all over. Is xillia 2 really that much of an upgrade? Hard to imagine.
