Did you know that Knytt Stories was highly inspired by that same Japanese Moomin anime? Juni (The main knytt character) was named after the lead animator of the Moomin anime (Juni Ito) and Knytts (which is what Juni is) is the original Swedish name of what we know of as Toffles in the Moominland.
This wasn't lost on the community, so much so that there are whole games that depict Juni as a Moomin instead of a Toffle.
