There remains a glimmer of hope with restorative medicine. We used to think that nerve damage was permanent, but we recently found out that is a dated science and neurogenesis is possible well into adulthood with various compounds like lions mane, 9-ME-BC, NSI-189, etc... or anything that spikes BDNF. Perhaps stem cell research will expand some day and offer the ability for humans to regenerate lost limbs, tissue, or repair damaged organs.
