Unfortunately, the superglue technique didn't work and the coil is exactly as annoying as before. However it does seem like they skimped on the output capacitors; wonder if adding a new one there will help?

And it does! Add some hot glue for good measure, and it goes back together, only slightly cracking the base plate of the earbuds charger. It still works though!
