It's a Telltale special. They advertise their game as "narrative experiences" where you shape the character relationships, but not the actual story. It's basically their legal fallback for the incredibly misleading "XXX will remember this" messages that are most times blatantly false.

It makes me appreciate David Cage games since a lot of care goes into his stories to make sure your choices DO matter and the story DOES change and the characters ARE affected. This image is of the final chapter of the game and there's like 9 different endings you can get, some of them only unlockable by taking certain choices way back earlier in the game. And this is just HALF of it - if you pick the peaceful route the chapter plays out completely differently like in my previously attached picture.
