The self-published book (now taken down) shows it was published on the 9th of September but describes an event that took place when on no place on earth was it the 9th. Kirk was killed at around 1220 (UTC -7) on the 10th. The earliest date at that time, just East of the International Date Line, was already the 10th at 0730.

Simplest explanation is that Amazon allows you to backdate the date of publication. lol. Unless..
