The other side of this coin is that we don't know everything and a lot of is due to luck. So when people have absolute efficacy in knowing what will make or not make it they're just lying straight to your face. There's a clear correlation between putting in the effort and honing a craft put into your game and success but some of us get lucky, some don't. This doesn't exclude the fact that cheering people on or making them humble is bad in itself, because those are conditions for a developer to use and work on their game. Everything within balance.
