>Conquest was a much better game. It had more than two good maps and unit progression over the course of a playthrough was pretty great. The game actually rewarded you for planning your Corrin build, pairings, and second seals. I've played through Conquest almost a dozen times just because the unit progression is so good. I played through Engage once and hated it for having the worst parts of Awakening (level reset reclassing and canon wank), the worst parts of Fates (recruitment trios who mostly invalidate all early game units), and its own giant problems (emblem ring super states). Even Birthright is a better game and I don't even like Birthright all that much.

The musou doesn't take place in the monastery and it sold better than most musous because people wanted to see a what if scenario in Fodlan. The game has a larger legacy than the prerelease fears of it being a Harry Potter Persona.
