Cutting from cyrillic and adopting latin would culturally launch Ukraine towards Western culture and cut them off from zigerian influence. If you have similar alphabet, then learning German or Spanish is going to be easier. And it would be problematic for basic education zigerians to read your language. Turkey changed their alphabet to latin quite recently - and nowadays, they have mostly normal country, it's one of the most sensible Muslim countries in fact. General occupation would be unironically the best thing happening to Russia. Dividing it into different country occupation zones like Germany after second WW.
