to be fair alot of that was due to nobody really knowing how to handle 3D in the early days save for a good few who did, there was alot of growing pains during that time like the issue of the camera being a physical actor or turning with a single stick/dpad which has been solved for quite some time.

it also helped Hal experimented with smaller games that used 3D such as blowout blast and battle royale which helped them too and seeing other nintendo games would've made them be able to refine things.
