Antz is definitely worth watching if you're a Shrek fan

Antz is a bit more interesting than Bug's Life for one reason: it's literally the prototype of Shrek. The entire animation crew from Antz jumped to Shrek inmediately after finishing Antz

All the animation in Shrek was created by the DreamWorks division that previously created the animation of Antz

Antz and Shrek were the first movies by the Palo Alto division of DreamWorks (which moved to Redwood City not long after finishing Shrek). It's true that Antz shows its age, but Shrek still looks really good.
