>RLC will allow you to launch AI capable compute for some unknown ends, and you gain tokens for renting out the compute?
Yes. RLC literally means Runs on Lots of Computers. Basically there will be GPU & CPU worker pools where ANYONE will be able to join as a worker. The only requirement to join will be that you need RLC and that you of course need the minimum requirements to run a worker. So as a worker you're just a random computer waiting for someone to send you work, once you complete the work inside the TEE you send the results back and you get paid by the person who requested the work to be done. There already were like 3 test public work pools. It used to be so that you could earn at most 1/3 of the staked RLC inside the worker. So if I have 10 RLC staked on the worker I can receive jobs that are worth at most 3.33 RLC. This is because if for some reason you try to scam the network sending back false results you'd get slashed... So instead of getting paid you lose a bit of your RLC because you sent back a bad result. If you're a good actor then sending back a bad result is impossible, it's only possible if you're a bad actor. This is the last time the test worker pools were active https://workerpass.iex.ec/drop. Soon they'll be releasing permanent public worker pools where anyone can join.
>So it's something that is already a service, but with crypto payouts instead of fiat?
Correct. RLC is the networks coin and is used as a payment medium.
Ah, I've also forgot to mention, they're also working on AI agents... https://www.iex.ec/trusted-ai-agents. They have an integration with ElizaOS.
