Complete lets you get experience from using healing and buffing spells, so there is that. Aside from that, I'd say look up what generics you want to use and how to unlock them asap. One thing that works way better than it should are status innocents. Even a level 2 hypnotist can put a surprisingly high number of opponents to sleep, including some early game bosses too.
