Don't worry, it gets worse.
>The impending new US Government tariff rules commencing 29 August 25 will impact all shipments to the US. The removal of the deminimis rule means 100% of inbound packages are subject to tariffs with the rate based on country of origin. As all my product is sourced from Japan - this means the 15% rate applied to Japanese sourced products (not the 10% rate for Australia).
>Couriers (DHL, FEDEX etc) are responsible for calculating the exact tariff based on product value and origin and will also apply processing fees for having to do this. If you ship items in via these means expect the courier to hold your package until the amount due is paid.
>While USPS will implement a similar model - in the interim (up to 6 months) they have been given the green light to simply charge $80USD per package regardless of the value of the contents. So a $10 item could end up costing you an extra $80USD in tariffs.
