Spec Ops' kind of holier-than-thou fingerwagging story is a classic leftist staple. They create a strawman audience (in this case, the unthinking Call of Duty dudebro, even though pretty much every Call of Duty has your government being corrupt and you teaming up with "the bad guys"...) and then attack them in this really snarky, passive-aggressive way while contributing to the very problem they claim to be rebelling against.

They spend millions of dollars and years of their lives making a gorey war game, force you to do gorey war things, and then act like they're better than you for it. Then they pretend like the good ending was turning off the game ten minutes in (no they won't give you a refund, of course.)

What's especially funny is the developers were PISSED that their subversive slop was met with... indifference. They were gonna OWN the Fox News Call of Duty bros who bought the game to mindlessly shoot brown people only to find they were shooting White Americans... but no one cared lol.
