from what I remember basically there was an ancient race called the mythos that would go around and create worlds and build prosperous places for humans.the mythos were essentially treated as gods although they never really considered themselves to be. the main bad guy is unsatisfied with how the world turned out and wants to reset it and create a new world despite humans living peacefully on there. the mythos used the "power of the stars" to create worlds. its a somewhat similar setup to what kai presented. maybe aidios created the gamecube in the sky to prevent other mythos from interfering and doing a grand reset. It's been a long time since I played it and was actually thinking about going back and replaying the official localization.

Also the main character could potentially be related to Towa. Towa's parents may have been isekai'd and ended up having Nayuta.
