I've noticed this shit since about 1996, long before I ever heard of the Mandalorian Effect. My mother used to love koalas and had koala stickers all over a minifridge. I came home from elementary school one day and the stickers had suddenly always been her favorite animal, dolphins, and she looked entirely different and she (and a few other people) seemed like a different person. I felt bad about it and that led to me stealing for the first time in my life to give her a gift.
