I wonder how does a person become qualified to write for things? Do they have to prove they've read the books and understand the source material? Do they just hire people that can follow a checklist and write a "good" story according to the employer's criteria? Are they sniped for the room for their previous work on similar series in a genre? Nepotism? I remember hearing some bits and pieces of the shitstorm that was going on with the first 2 seasons and its honestly baffling to me that so much money is on the line and they just pick some randos to write some shit up and call it a day.
