It was basically a lame excuse to keep the team together since technically they all should've gone to different highschools (except Zoe and Marc since they are a year younger).
Also to abuse the school setting, put even side cast in there as teachers and whatnot (Anarka as music teacher, Nora and Alya's mom serving in the cafeteria)
