The Senate does regularly pass non-treaty agreements with Israel, and yes, they have currently passed a deal which gives them loadsamoney, rights to US oil, etc. We get basically nothing from this; its best argument is that by attaching limited stipulations to the funding, we're effectively exporting our resources and American workers get paid from jobs serving as a government-funded homefront to the Israeli war machine. There's only 3 real treaties and they're not really important, except that they're really raw deals for us honestly. One of the most ridiculous is that we have a CEA relating to the implementation of a treaty of Israel where they signed away our money to a third country in exchange for access to their infrastructure. We've got to stop letting them treat us like an ATM.

We've backed out of treaties where the US has had stronger obligations. If we don't stand to benefit, there's no real obligation. Would you back out of a contract where you had to pay money every year and get nothing in return, if there were no penalty for breaking the contract? I would.
