I am starting to see why JP artists, almost all of them, have started watermarking their art.

If there is one change since 5 years ago, it is this. AIshit is almost everywhere now. You can get away with it back home but not here.

What do I mean? Ads on train promoting AI use, stores using the Grok made Ghibliesque gensrt on their posters and banners, entire sections at bookstores teaching you how to prompt frat front cover illustration by GrokGhibli. How old man Ghibli allows this, I don't know. Maybe he does not have Nintendo money. There is AI porn, photo books on sale- all for the same price as real people material. And the funny anime sex toys are now half illustrated by real people and the other half AI-gen.

Yes, every company is cashing in but not to the extent I have seen here. Japan is probably going all in on AI to compensate for their soon to be crippling lack of children. I cannot imagine what /r/antiai would do if they lived here. Probably hourly breakdowns.
