Might be an acquired taste, not sure. They're a pretty common way to cook vegs in my family so I'm fine with it. Goes better as a side to something savory. If you eat some saucy meat just slap some steamed vegs next to it!

Yeah for whatever reason it's kind to some tummies and brutal to others. For me banana is generally soothing. I don't eat enough for them to kill me though, I think.

Yah I don't know seemed like a painful way to die. I can't think of a dangerous food I'd like to eat desu. Fugu doesn't seem worth it. I did eat a lot of regular sushi and sashimi but at least in the west the fish is deep frozen and thawed before reaching the kitchen and your plate so no issues. Idk, I don't like when my food fights back! Pineapple does, or so they say.
