I get anxious when I'm about to get rekt for the 8th time MA lol I'm like 13 hours in and still haven't hit Act 2 yet! However I did get to the Act 1 end boss Last Judge and my god just getting to her was a pain. part of it might be that it was originally just supposed to be an expansion, but they kept adding content and it felt like it should be a separate game, I don't remember, do you not have anything on your map before buying it? or do you see at least what you explored? if not it should at least give you that, and then you can buy it to see what you might have missed, or where secrets might be,
and yeah having the compass take up a charm slot was annoying, though I didn't really need it after I knew my way around, or for something specific like finding the rest of the grubs
