Taeshi is going to have Mike try to commit suicide. Either he succeeds, or him and Lucy end up bonding over their shared experience and end up together as a couple.

Either way, we still have years of Mike torture before any of this is resolved, but that doesn't mean Mike will be the only guy suffering.
