Social media makes it easy to cut people out of your life and find new ones. Which is why you always see the first relationship advice given in twittershit/redditshit being to immediately break up with lovers or cut out family members. Those people find it easier to just run away from their problems with other people instead of actually facing them, to the point where it's become the default solution for them. Obviously there are times when you just need to cut ties in cases of legitimate abuse with people who show zero desire to become better, but they will take this extreme last resort as the first move against any inconvenience or disagreement.
