So lorewise, how does the constant power-creep in Fate make sense from a historical standpoint? History in Fate is supposed to be almost identical to our history. And yet, Richard Lionheart was faster than sound and could turn any weapon he held into Excalibur beams strong enough to vaporize mountains, Hassan-i Sabbah is apparently strong enough to fight on par with Gawain under the sun and inflict the concept of death on anything he fights, and Musashi is apparently naruto tier swordsman who can cut through concepts and travel through dimensions. How does any of this make sense? Why didn't Richard basically solo the crusades if he was THAT strong while everyone else was normal? Why didn't King Hassan just solo the crusaders in the first crusade? Why resort to secretcy and assassination when you can sword fight world ending threats? Why did Musashi run from Kojiro's men if she could summon a skyscraper sized spirit behind her strong enough to cut through mountains? How does this any of this make sense?
In Fate/Stay Night at least, it was implied that all of the fancy abilities the servants got were shit they acquired post posthumously, or it was outright stated that they were fictional or mythical characters that never actually existed outside of stories.
Now though? Apparently every heroic spirit was THAT strong, or even stronger while they were alive, which retroactively makes the entire setting fall apart from a logical and historical standpoint.
Apparently all of the muslims Rochard Lionheart fought were on par with Gilgamesh, considering Richard can make Gilgamesh sweat.
Apparently all of the Saxons and Picts that Artoria fought were on par with Saber Alter, since Saber Alter is the closest we've ever seen to a "living" Artoria able to use her full powers
Apparently, the Crusaders in the First Crusade were all so strong that King Hassan had to resort to stealth and trickery to fight them.
