Oh please, it's the same shit that's been going on for decades, nothing is fundamentally different going back to the country's founding
>A divided society ... ruled by a power hungry asshole that everyone hates
Which democracy doesn't have this left/right divide where [opposition] is stupid, evil, a fifth-columnist or some combination of the three?
This isn't anything new anywhere, it only feels like it used to be better because before the internet you'd have pretty much just mainstream media, your immediate surrounding and people you know personally, and those usually become pretty homogeneous.
People love being outraged, people love demonizing the opposition, people love being reductionist to the point of absurdity and insisting their side is the TRUE representative of the people.
Point is, for every person that thinks Bibi is the devil there's at least one who thinks he's the Israeli politics GOAT
>a growing population of low IQ religious nuts
I've been hearing this doom prophecy since I was a child, how any minute now the Haredi community will out-breed the rest of the country to the point of being the majority and the country would either turn into a theocracy or collapse because dey dun wurk
Those statistics only ever look at birthrates and never take into consideration how many Haredi young people just leave the community and become de-facto secular.
In fact, there's a Haredi joke going something like
>A Haredi mother produces more soldiers than a secular mother
(for those not in the know, Haredi are REALLY against serving in the army, so the joke is how many people leave the community)
There was a similar doom prophecy about Arab-Israelis producing more children and thus out breeding Jewish Israelis.
But then the Arabic middle class began exploding, which made the average kids number plummet, and now everyone memory-holed it.
