Well, i guess she sort of was in a way, her role was being a sort of back up weapon; She joined the fight when the situation was getting out of hand quickly obliterated the problem.
Though, nowadays her role kinda changed, she's a squad leader and she trains/commands her own group of valkyrie rookies (which probably leads to many hilarious shenanigans, but sadly so far none of it has been shown, it was just mentioned in passing).
