I see it as more Mr. Priest accepting that he’s literally just a kid versus Lucifer trying to play God
It’s very heavily implied that Lucifer’s plan is doomed to fail (the symbolism in pic rel is not subtle), but he’s too stubborn to give it up. He has good intentions, but this doesn’t somehow mean he has the wisdom to create a better world than God can. It ties into his sin of pride; he vastly overestimates what he understands and can do.
Mr. Priest on the other hand accepts that, his power aside, he’s just a kid who doesn’t know shit.
