Didn't happen all at once, but throughout previous secret santas. I also forgot the one in '21 where an anon got a custom puzzle of anonfilly sent directly to their house from the puzzle maker. Anonfilly wasn't on their list of ponies either, and the santa basically doubled down saying the santee was ungrateful.

Again, cautionary tales, but that doesn't mean a cheap gift isn't appreciated. I was gifted in one of the first /ss/ events a $20 comic signed by Film Cow (creator of Llamas with Hats and Charlie the Unicorn) with a personalized message from the creator. My santa didn't have much cash but wanted something unique and reached out to Film Cow to ask for something memorable.
