im watching a film about hitler, and it is talking about the book burnings in 1933, which burned communist propaganda, as well as pornography and such. at the time, berlin was considered a place of depravity, home to homosexuals, transsexuals and jews, with sex shops and brothels. what i wonder is, why are they opposed to sex, why is it considered perverse and why the need to burn pornography? my assumption is, the view was that sex should be for procreation only, and hitler was raised catholic. im definitely not in favor of kink at pride events and all that bs, sexuality doesn't need to be your whole identity, but nor should it be secret. we're all adults and we can acknowledge that we be fucking behind closed doors, and all the nasty shit is fine, as long as you don't put it on display to anyone who hasn't consented. i think this idea of procreation extends to the hatred for lgbt people too. if two lesbians wanna have sex, fall in love, buy a home, and be members of society, they deserve to be. i don't think ive ever met a lgbt person who was filled with hate for me, so why would i feel hate towards them, if they've never harmed anyone, and in general are a net positive on society by having jobs and being kind ppl, and they can adopt a child who would be stuck in foster care. but that's it isn't it, because they can't produce a child themselves, because they can't carry on their genetics, they are demonized, because they do not increase the population, it's that basic animal instinct to further the species. the western world right now is at a breaking point with immigration, and these immigrants will outbreed us. is even more people really the solution we need right now? wasn't hitler ultimately in favor of eugenics anyway, perhaps we need to be more selective. i think if we valued intelligence, empathy, beauty, and an individuals actions, we'd have a better world than dividing it along lines of race and sexuality. idc who you are, just be a nice person. pic unrel
