My personal suggestion would be to shoot a bomb at it and make it explode such that it pushes the asteroid onto a different trajectory, so that it either misses Viti or falls on Numberia.

now that's what I call a sleeper agent. Cool lore, it's fun how that profession mutated, reminds me of all the wacky ways roman praetorian guards ended up being employed over the centuries.
Also, Taranchama and pigs are definitely symbiotic... At least psychologically.
