I'm involved in the building of a low-cost DFT hydroponic system. It's 99% finished, but some of the pipes are rolling and bending due to the lettuce's weight.
The pipes are being supported by wooden poles, so I suggested we tie a knot on every intersection between the poles and the pipes in order to minimize the torque with respect to the tie's pressure. The problem with this idea is that it'll take us an entire day to get it all done.
