"targeting" and "adult" are just buzz words Lego is using to help make those customers feel more comfortable spending hundreds of dollars on Lego, and perhaps deflecting the obvious eye-rolling money grabbing tactics, almost could be considered abuse, of charging hundreds of dollars for children's toys that are not being bought by the children, but instead by adults who can afford hundreds of dollars sets.
it's funny that the age limit on the boxes used to be for determining if your child was developed enough to handle the brick-connection complexity (young kids got more simple builds) but that got butchered into the adult "pandering" (for lack of a better term) to make the grown ups feel less shame (?) for spending money on kids toys for themselves.
SEE? it says so right on the box! It's FOR adults! Gosh! Leave me alone!
