I don't think this is a Republican vs Democrat issue. I think this is Israel using its influence to block the release. Epstein and Maxwell were working for Mossad. Maxwell's father was a known Mossad agent.
The entire thing was an Israeli blackmail operation to control politicians and powerful people. Exposing it will reveal that Israel isn't our greatest ally, but instead a hostile corrupt enemy controlling much of our country through threats and blackmail.
They also have many politicians in their pocket through other means, and they gloat about it.
But remember, we really need to worry about Russia influencing our elections...
